As part of Perfume’s American tour — the Perfume 6th Tour 2016 COSMIC EXPLORER — the performance of “STORY” featured a seamless blend between reality and the virtual world. Spectators were transported between both worlds through a complex combination of 3D scanning, motion tracking, projections, and video morphing (a shape-shifting video effect in which one object transforms into another). This project was also the first to showcase illusory video elements created using screens tilted at an angle.
